G Flip, Alex Lahey, Redhook, Crocodylus and more live in Wollongong this week

Jeb Taylor

It is a huge week of live music around Wollongong!

G Flip is in town and playing Waves three nights in a row, Friday March 8th, Saturday March 9th and Sunday March 10th. The shows are sold out but a very limited release of tickets has just opened up. Don't forget G Flip will also be dropping by the shop for a signing at 1pm on Sunday.

Friday night at the Iron Yampi in Port Kembla is Maple Glider who last year released a stunning album via the Pieater and Partisan labels. It is not the only thing happening on Friday night either with Alex Lahey hitting the Unibar, Jet City Sports Club at Towradgi Beach Hotel, Budjerah at Anita's Theatre and Sophisticated Dingo at La La Las.

On Satuurday night Redhook bring their heavy punk sounds to the Unibar while Crocodylus launch their great new single with a free show at Dicey Rileys. At La La Las on Saturday night, Sultans Of Spin present Women On Wax, featuring a line up of all female DJs.

There are a couple of big free shows happening on Sunday with a huge line up at the North Gong Hotel featuring Radio Free Alice, Leroy McQueen and MFV, while out at Thirroul Railway Hall the experimental sounds of Rodriguez and Russell W will play a special show.

If the weekend wasn't enough, Australian music legend James Reyne drops in to play at Anita's Theatre on Monday March 11th, while Thursday March 14th sees Party Dozen at La La Las, Old Mervs at the Unibar and Native Cats at Franks Wild Years in Thirroul.

See you at a gig!
