Illawarra Folk Festival as well as Dear Seattle, The Screaming Jets, Vengaboys and more live around Wollongong this week

This weekend the Illawarra Folk Festrival hits Bulli Showgrounds with a line up that includes The Strides, Alara Livingstone, Concvrete Sea, Eric Bogle and plenty more.  Visit www.illawarrafolkfestival.com.au for the full program and tickets.

Waves kicks off their year of live music this weekend with two shows at very opposite ends of the spectrum. Newcastle pub rock icons The Screaming Jets play on Friday January 17th, while nineties euro pop group Vengaboys take to the stage on Sunday January 19th.

La La La's have a big week of bands, starting on Friday night with Dear Seattle, Saturday night is Cut Throat, Sunday features Blind Girls and Wednesday has Sort It Out. Don't forget about Friday afternoon knock off weekly at La La La's with Sultans Of Spin hosting Afternoon Delight featuring vinyl DJ's and drink specials from 5pm til 8pm.

If you want to catch some live music for free thins weekend, Towradgi Beach Hotel hosts Horsin Around on Friday night, while Dicey Rileys has a stacked line up featuring Civic Video, Sweaty Bettys and Wisdom Teeth on Saturday night, also on the same night is Daisy Pring at the Ryan's Hotel in Thirroul. This Sunday at North Gong Hotel it is Charli Lucas, Oniera, As People and Meadowhip.

The Servo in Port Kembla has an international flavour this Friday witrh Norway's Telephones, while on Wednesday evening the excellent Godtet plan there. This Saturday afternoon out at Franks Wild Years in Thirroul it is Moon Brain
