Polaris, The Buoys, Macy Gray, Duo Log and more live around Wollongong this week

Jeb Taylor

We kick off the live music around town this Friday afternoon at 5pm right here at Music Farmers with The Buoys playing some acoustic tunes to launch their album Lustre. It is free and all ages.

Last year Polaris released one of the best heavy albums to come out of this country in sometime and you'll be able to hear plenty of it when they play Waves on Friday July 12th. Next door at Towradgi Beach Hotel on the same night it is Loons, As People and Cut Throat for free.

Nineties favourite Macy Gray is also in town playing on Friday night at Anita's Theatre in Thirroul while locals Circadia are at La La Las also on Friday night.

Saturday night sees the Washing Machine crew host a show at Stranded in Bellambi with live performances from The Glider and Solo Career. On the same night at Dicey Rileys it is a NADOC Weekevent featuring Boudicca, Sketch Method, None For One and Backhand, this one is free entry, while also free on the same night up at the Ryans Hotel in Thirroul is The Huneez and Eastwood

On Saturday afternoon out at The Servo in Port Kembla it is locals Dos Enos while this weeks North Gong Hotel Sunday session features Creature Fear, Indiago, Ella Hartwig and Benny Elder.

There are some great shows through the week at La La Las. If you want an alternative to the State Of Origin on Wednesday July 17th, the weird and wild world of experimental pop band Duo Log will definitely give you that, while on Thursday it is local heavy hitters Birdsville and Hugs.
