Music Farmers & Rad Music announce 7” single series launching on Record Store Day.
Wollongong music mainstays Music Farmers (record shop) and Rad Bar (live music venue) have teamed up to create a new series of 7” singles which will launch with the Autumn addition on April 13th (Record Store Day).
The idea of the series is to team up an artist based or originating from the local Wollongong area with an artist from outside of the region. With Rad Bar being to go to venue for most artists starting out in the local scene and likewise a first Wollongong show for many bands touring through the city, and Music Farmers being the equivalent for recorded music, the two entities are in a unique position to witness the best of what is coming through locally but also artists that are emerging on the national touring circuit.
To kick off the series, local heavy hitting trio Velvet Elevator provide an epic new track. The band have developed their sound in Rad Bar over the last few years and will be playing Music Farmers on record store day to launch the release. On the flipside Adelaide band Horror My Friend will use the release to launch their brand new single. The band like to call Wollongong a second home having played many memorable gigs at Rad Bar.
