The new year is already rolling and it’s kicked off quickly! Today sees the release of the debut full length from Private Wives titled Three Of Swords. You can grab it in store or online now here, or you can get along to one of their shows below at get it there. There are a bunch of releases planned this year across a bunch of labels I’m involved with so it’s great to get started with them nice and early!
The Sultans Of Spin record club returns for the year this Sunday at La La La’s. To kick off the year we have local hip hop connoisseur Sean Sheap featuring the De La Soul classic 3 Feet High and Rising. It kicks off at 3pm, is free entry and we’ll have a specially curated crate of hip hop records on sale.
Next weekend Tumbleweed and The New Christs are doling a couple of coastal double header shows in Milton and Avalon. The New Christs are supporting the release of their Burning Of Rome : Selected Works release that is available here, while Tumbleweed have fresh merch and you can get plenty of their back catalogue releases here in store now.
We’ve already had a week back in the shop, it has kicked off well and we look forward to a big year ahead. As always we’ll be on the look out for new and interesting releases to stock alongside all the regular favourites. Record Store Day has just been announced to take place on Saturday April 18th, so save the date and keep a look out for what we’ll be doing on the day.
