New DCN out today and some fresh reissue announcements coming soon

Jeb Taylor

Out today is the brand-new mix tape from DCN via Farmer & The Owl/BMG. A genre blending artist who grows so much with each release. You can stream it everywhere now and check the latest video below.

I’ve been highlighting a lot of reissues here in recent times and in the background over the last couple of years, I’ve been working slowly at getting some more reissues going, and my label activities have begun to head more so in that direction. After dabbling in it over the years with reissues from Tumbleweed, Proton Energy Pills and some from the old High Beam label in Thumlock and Pod People, I’ve spent some time to consolidate the reissues into two new imprints that launch soon. Red Ash Records is run alongside my friend Adam Hart and focuses on Australian and New Zealand music from the 60's and 70's. The first releases will be announced soon, and we already have some merch rolling with this great Luke Player designed logo below on a shirt and available now in the shop. The second is Before Somewhere, an imprint I’m running myself within the Farmer & The Owl structure. This has a broader scope, taking in music from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and 10’s. The New Christs compilation from last year was a bit of an unofficial test run of this and next week the first official release via Before Somewhere will be announced. Over time I’ll bring some of the existing reissues from Tumbleweed and the High Beam catalogue into the fold. As well as physical product, Before Somewhere will also be looking to bring releases into the digital world that currently do not exist there. While these are both very much passion projects and won’t have super busy release schedules, I’m excited to get them rolling and would also be keen to hear of any releases you’d love to see reissued. Drop me a line – jeb@musicfarmers.com
