Next month I’ll be digging out the country records and heading down to Canberra via the On The Range DJ’s moniker to play records at Capital Brewing for their 8th Birthday Country Hoedown. It’s happening on Sunday November 23rd and features live music from Andy Golldge, The Burley Griffin, Twin Single and more.

November's Sultans Of Spin Record Club at La La La’s has just been announced. The month's album is the classic debut from The Avalanches Since I Left You. A pioneering record that will be great to have a full listen through. Either side of the play through, Catman will be spinning tunes featuring influences on the album and music from artists that have been influenced by it. We’ll also have a curated record stall once again featuring adjacent vinyl releases. And while we're talking Sultans Of Spin, if you want some morning vinyl vibes, head along to Uncle Earls from 8am til midday on Saturday for hip hop, funk, and soul records spinning via the Sultans Of Spin crew.

Tomorrow (Saturday November 1st) the Belair Lip Bombs are doing an acoustic in store here at Music Farmers. Their second album Again is out today via Third Man Records and it is very good, come along, it’s free and all ages. If you happen to be around Thirroul tomorrow afternoon, Tropical Strength and Russell W are doing a double up at Franks Wild Years that also includes an acoustic set from Shining Bird.

Happy sixth birthday to La La La’s, an incredible and valuable venue for Wollongong, they are having a party to celebrate on Saturday with a solid line up, make sure you get along. If you’re for some party hits on vinyl this weekend, I’m spinning records at Howlin Wolf from 8pm til midnight on both Friday and Saturday night.
