Sultans Of Spin Record Club for November is happening this Sunday November 16th at La La La’s. This month’s album is an Australian classic and a groundbreaking album at a global level, The Avalanches Since I Left You. I first heard The Avalanches on the Au Go Go Records compilation Wonder From A Quarter Acre, they were more of a band set up on that, albeit a unique one. Then a few years later they returned with Since I Left You. What a wild debut, one that confused me for a while but I grew to love it over the years. This Sunday you can re-live the album in full, with Catman on the decks playing adjacent music either side, and we’ll be there with a curated pop-up stall.

This week has seen the arrival of a couple of great reissues I’m personally excited about. First up is a long overdue repress of the Kahvas Jute album Wide Open. A cult Australian record of heavy psych/prog from the early seventies that has become a bit of a vinyl grail if you are tacking down an original copy. Thankfully you can now grab a more affordable version if you want it in your record collection.
Next up is a first time on vinyl pressing of the Legends Of Motorsport album Remnants From The Big Bang. Back when I was running the High Beam label, we released their ep release Beef With Cheese, an incredible bunch of high octane, organ driven rock tracks, maybe that is also due for a vinyl release? This record is the album they released after the EP, and it continues the tradition of high energy rock, but in a unique Legends Of Motorsport way.

New week sees the release of a brand-new single from Private Wives via Farmer & The Owl, it will also include some other news from the band. Hit on the cover pic below to pre save the track now so you are one of the first people to hear it!
