This week has seen new releases from Private Wives via Farmer & The Owl and Russell W via the Silhouette Label. Starting with Private Wives, Heartlines is the latest single from their forthcoming album, more news on that next week. Another powerful slice of punk/riotgrrrl energy. Russell W gives un another taste of his forthcoming full-length release where he is compiling unreleased and limited release recorded works from the past decade or so. Glow In The Dark Stars is another great showcase of his production and songwriting prowess.
This Saturday is Gong Crawl and there is great music happening across Wollongong for free and several venues, including here at Music Farmers. A Bunch of artists from the Farmer & The Owl/Fowl Taste/Silhouette label families are playing such as Totally Unicorn, L.O.W, Private Wives, Blistar, Tropical Strength, Bimbo and Cool Jumper. Some other personal highlights include Sesame Girl, Bridge Dog, Twine and Mudrat.
This Sunday I’m dragging out the country records and heading to Canberra for a rare On The Range DJ’s set at Capital Brewing, these are always fun to do so if you happen to be in the nations capital this weekend, swing by. If you’re not, I’ll also be doing another On The Range spot next Saturday alongside Wellness Coach between artists at Anita’s Theatre for Thirroul Music Festival.
