Sunday afternoons at the Heritage Hotel, guest DJ’s are taking over the turntables between 5pm and 7pm to deliver Vinyl Voyage, two hours of curated tunes. This week Russell W is on the decks for an Australiana set where you can expect music from The Triffids, The Go-Betweens, The Church and much more.
I’m back on the deck for Afternoon Delight at La La La’s next Friday September 4th, and with our reissue label Red Ash Records that is focused on Australian and New Zealand music from the 60’s and 70’s getting closer to launch, I’ll be doing a set of antipodean sounds from those decades spanning garage, psych, soul, folk, disco and funk. It’s 5pm til 8pm and entry is free.
The following night at La La La’s is the launch of Fun Prison, a late-night weekly rock n roll party in the downstairs bar, where DJ’s will spin the best across the rock spectrum on vinyl presented by 96 Tears and Sultans Of Spin. To kick it off we’ve invited some live favourites to play upstairs in the bandroom.
