The New Christs have announced the Australian release of The Burning Of Rome : Selected Works. Originally released for sale only on their European tour earlier this year, the release is a career spanning collection personally created by Rob Younger. The result is an incredible double vinyl, twenty track release featuring a lot of tracks that haven’t been available on vinyl for some time. The Australian version has alternate artwork and is available on limited edition white vinyl or standard black vinyl. Hit the cover blow to pre order, it is out on December 12th.
Following their new single release last week, Private Wives have announced the release of their debut album Three Of Swords on January 9th 2026 via Farmer & The Owl. The trio will also be going out on tour, including a show at Resin Brewery in Bulli which is where you’ll first be able to get hold of the album. Following a trip down to Canberra last weekend, I’m keeping the country records out, and this time adding as some freak folk and country-gaze vinyl to the box to spin records via On The Range DJ's at Thirroul Music Festival this Saturday. I’ll be joined by Wellness Coach and we’ll be on the turntables in the Anita’s Theatre foyer between bands from 3pm.
As well as Thirroul Music Festival this weekend, we have an instore double up with Newcastle’s Fahm on Saturday and Sydney dream pop crew Egoism on Sunday, both at 4pm, all ages and free entry. And if you want to get across one of more standard DJ spots, I’ll be at Howlin Wolf from 8pm – Midnight on Friday.
