The New Christs selected works out today, A rock DJ set this afternoon and Sultans Of Spin Record Club for November

Jeb Taylor

The New Christs Burning Of Rome: Selected Works is out today! A career-spanning collection of twenty songs personally selected by Rob Younger. There has been a big response to this release with the limited white vinyl already sold out on pre order. The standard black vinyl is in store now and you can also get it at other great indie stores around the country including Sonic Sherpa(Brisbane), Hiss & Crackle(Newcastle), Rock Steady(Melbourne), Tommy Gun(Hobart), Red Eye(Sydney) and Clarity Records(Adelaide).

As mentioned last week, I’m spinning records this afternoon at La La La’s for Afternoon Delight. With the show upstairs later that night featuring Robot God, and the fact a couple of bands I grew up listening to, in Grinspoon and You Am I are playing Waves that night, I’m returning to my rock roots for this set. I’ll be spinning a bunch of stoner rock, garage punk, heavy psych, grunge and power pop tunes all on vinyl. It happens from 5pm til 8pm.

The Sultans Of Spin monthly record has been a great addition to this year and we round it out on Sunday 21st at La La La’s with a fun one. It is doubling as our Christmas party so we wanted to change it up from a typical album and went for the soundtrack option. So you’ll be hearing Saturday Night Fever in full, with adjacent tunes either side of it. It’s free entry and kicks off at 3pm.
