Shining Bird, The Gooch Palms, Middle Kids, Seth Sentry, Floodlights and more live around Wollongong this week

It's a long weekend so you have plenty of chances to see live music this week around Wollongong. Kicking off this week with some free options, Friday night at Towradgi Beach Hotel sees Haper Bloom and Buddhadatta take to the stage. Saturday night at the Ryan's Hotel in Thirroul it is Clueless and Kryver while Sunday afternoon at the North Gong Hotel features Don West, Gia Ransome, Gosh and Lorna.

Newcastle garage punk duo The Gooch Palms hit La La La's on Saturday night while local legends Shining Bird launch their fourth album Open Ground there on Sunday with support from Tropical Strength. The Unibar is also busy this weekend with Friday night seeing Australian hip hop mainstays Seth Sentry and Pez take to the stage, while Saturday night has Melbourne indie rock crew Floodlights.

Anita's Theatre also has a solid week ahead with Middle Kids playing Friday night, Xavier Rudd on Saturday and Kip Moore next Thursday. Staying in Thirroul and Sunday sees Andy Ophee & The Overnight Lows launch their brand new album.

This Saturday in Port Kembla it is the Open Street Festival taking place across the whole town, the line up features Mat Mchugh, Frank Sultana, Ruby Jackson, The Strides and plenty more. It all kicks off at 1pm, while Dicey Rileys Hotel has legendary Australian rockers The Radiators taking to the stage on Saturday night.

Next Wednesday night at Franks Wild Years in Thirroul it is the venues 9th birthday and they'll be hosting Andy Golledge for a dinner and show event!
