For the last couple of years, I’ve been bring back second had copies of various Masayoshi Takanaka records to play and hopefully sell in the shop. Almost without fail when I’d be playing them someone would ask what it was and buy the record. As reissues started to filter out, I’d get in what I could, but they were difficult to get hold of. Never did I think that this Japanese artist whose heyday was probably the 70’s and 80’s, would ever tour Australia, let alone sell out a show at the Hordern. Last night it happened. We have a few of the reissues in stock, including th live release Ocean Breeze if you were there and want to relive it, or if you wish you were there.

It’s another long weekend and on Sunday there are a couple of Sultans Of Spin events happening. First up in the afternoon is the Block Party at The Servo in Pork Kembla, a bunch of the crew will be spinning records across the afternoon. Then from 8pm that evening, Jimmy BYO and myself are hitting Howlin Wolf for a back to back Need You Tonight set, playing Australian party anthems from across the decades all on vinyl.

Thanks again to everyone that came out for Record Store Day, it was another great day and so fantastic to see so many of you across the day.
