Sounds Of Steel takes over Port Kembla this Saturday with a bunch of free events across the town. I’ll be spinning indie/dream pop/shoegaze records from 2pm at Black Metal Motor Co and then between artists at that venue which has a great line up featuring Shining Bird, Steve Bourk and Chelsea Daghita. There is plenty of other great stuff happening through the day and night at all your favourite PK venues.
Legendary New Zealand band The Bats recently announced a show at Coledale RSL in June! As you’ve probably become aware if you read this column regularly or have spoken to me about music, I’ve been a huge fan of the Flying Nun catalogue, and The Bats are one of the mainstays of the label releasing quality albums consistently over several decades now.
Over the next month I’ll be spinning records every weekend, a lot of times at my usual Howlin Wolf spot but also across some other venues including this Saturday at Sounds Of Steel as mentioned above, La La La’s for Spinning Around in May 23rd, both days at Winter Wine Festival in Gerringong in early June and I’ll even be heading down to Buds Tavern in Huskisson for third birthday!
