It has been a strong few weeks for music coming out of our local area (for the purpose of this playlist below I class local as music by artists based in or originating from Wollongong and its suburbs.). Last week there was new tuns from Private Wives, DCN, Surely Shirley, Stevan and L.O.W. Now this week we’ve seen Hockey Dad return with new music, Bec Sandridge release a new single with an album release announce and Sesame Girl has also just dropped a new single. The Hits From The Gong playlist is updated regularly and I try to get across as much local music as possible but I do miss stuff, so if you feel there is a new local tune I should hear or you are in a band that has a new single out, feel free to drop me an email at jeb@musicfarmers.com with a link to the track.
Next week I’m back to Tokyo for some more record digging to replenish the Japan imports crates at Music Farmers for the months ahead. As we head to the end of the year, the release schedule is heating up. Check out our pre orders for Big Thief in September, while dust drop their debut album in October, I’ve had a sneaky listen and this is a big step up for the Newcastle crew, it’s sitting among my top albums of the year at this stage. The Belair Lip Bombs announced their new album via Third Man Records with a big new single, that album is out on October 31st.
