Today Moaning Lisa released their second album fainter via Farmer & The Owl. It’s another huge sounding, strong release from the Canberra via Melbourne band. If you’re in Melbourne, you can see them play it live tonight (Friday November 22nd), otherwise they’ll be playing some acoustic in store shows around the country, including here at Music Farmers next Saturday November 30th, and then touring properly in the new year. You can stream the album below and vinyl is coming next week!
Speaking of vinyl, the Tumbleweed double 7” has arrived just ahead of it’s release next Friday, if you want to hear the new track When We Were Young before it hits streaming you can pop by the shop and grab a sneaky early copy of the 7”. In the meantime, here is a reminder of the already released Patchouli Girl track!
The year is rapidly winding up but the new releases keep on rolling! This week I wanted to highlight the new album from local noise/shoegaze band Miners. Mainstays of the local scene we featured this band on the initial Beach Friends compilation, and they played the infamous King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard show in the part that we promoted. The new album is solid, and I’m sure fans of early nineties shoegaze outfits such as Swervedriver and My Bloody Valentine along with later nineties indie noise rock bands such as Duster and Polvo will agree!
The Afternoon Delight sessions have been building well at La La La’s over the past few weeks. Kicking off each Friday at 5pm, we’re curating a bunch of different DJs to bring their own vibe to the Friday afternoon knock off. The venue is doing some drink and food specials and it wraps up by 8pm so you can be home for an early night or you can kick on!
