This will be the last column for a few weeks as I’ll be traveling through the USA over the next few weeks. I’ll be getting together some Record Stores Of The World features while I’m over there so I thought I’d reflect on some past features and introduce any newer people around here to the idea. Started back when I was traveling a fair bit internationally with bands I was working with, I started documenting record stores I’d discover along the way. It paused for a couple of years there when international travel wasn’t possibly and since it started again, my travels have been more specifically about visiting record stores, sourcing interesting stock for the shop and getting inspiration from what other store owners are doing around the globe. I’ve done these features across cities in the UK, USA, Europe, Japan and New Zealand, hit the image below to check out the past features.
Here in the shop while I’m not round there are a few exciting things happening. Pacific Avenue are releasing a new album on February 27th, and there may be a little surprise for fans, stay tuned to socials. The week after there is an album drop from one of our all-time highest selling artists, Harry Styles. I’ll be spinning records across the weekend at Howlin Wolf, it will be my last DJ spots for a few weeks so get along if you want to hear some party favourites all spun on vinyl.
