I’ve made it back from the USA where I dug for records across Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York and Florida, as well as attended the New Colossus festival/conference. You can read my Record Stores Of The World feature on Las Vegas here, while the New York one will be up soon. A bunch of the records I picked up for the store are now in the racks and I also managed to pick up some longtime want list items for myself.
This Saturday night it is a Fowl Taste Records takeover at Dicey Riley’s to celebrate the 7” release from Cold Blood. Alongside Cold Blood, Crown Street Militia, Dead Mall and L.O.W. are all playing, entry is free. Fowl Taste is the heavy music imprint of Farmer & The Owl and we’ll have a set up there selling the 7” releases to date as well as Fowl Taste merch.
Next week we have a couple of events coming up here at Music Farmers. On Wednesday at 6pm, it is the Music NSW listening event where emerging artists can showcase their latest music as well as network with like minded artists. This is a free and all ages event. The following evening at 6pm it is a Courtney Barnett listening party to celebrate the release of the new album Creature Of Habit. You can grab the album and there are merch giveaways.
