Skegss in store signing, Coalchella is next week, On The Range DJ's at Howlin Wolf and Hockey Dad US tour

Jeb Taylor

Skegss are a band I’ve been watching from one of their first ever shows around decade ago (who rembembers the chaos of their gig at Finbox with The Pinheads?). Since then they have put out a couple of albums and become favourites on not just the Australian live circuit but around the world. This Friday they release their new album Pacific Highway Music and on Saturday they’ll be dropping by Music Farmers to sign copies and hangout. It happens at 3pm, is free and all ages. You can also order the new album here. If you are in Newcastle or Melbourne they are also doing the same thing at the great Hiss & Crackle and Oh Jean stores over the coming week.

It's just over a week until Coalchella happens at Coledale RSL, tickets are getting close to sold out for a line-up that includes Grace Cummings, Shining Bird, Antenna and Sevilles. Over the next few days we’ll be announcing some extra additions to the line-up. You can grab tickets here.

This Friday October 18th I’m dragging out my country music records for a one off On The Range DJ’s set at Howlin Wolf. Quarter Horse Club are also playing live and it is totally free. If country music is not really your thing though, I’ll be back there on Saturday night spinning the usual party favourites on vinyl. Also on Saturday night the Sultans Of Spin crew are taking over La La La’s for the latest edition of Spinning Around. It is free entry, kicks off at 8pm and rolls through until 2am. And don't forget, you can start your weekend right with Afternoon Delight, each Friday at La La La's from 5pm, this week Jeanie and Tappy are on the decks.

Next week, Hockey Dad kicks off their US tour in support of the latest album Rebuild Repeat. The band have been consistently touring the US now for nearly a decade, this weeks feature photo is one I took on their Boronia tour in Portland way back in 2016. If you're in that part of the world go and see them!
