Tumbleweed’s Galactaphonic album turns thirty this month (check out the tv ad from when it was released below!) and it is this week’s classic album on Double J, you can have a listen to Richie talk about it here. A few years back we did a vinyl reissue of the album on Farmer & The Owl. I still remember this album coming out when I was in school and how much of an impact it had on me, I’ve said it before, but I am doubtful I’d be doing what I do now if it wasn’t for Tumbleweed. If you haven’t heard the album before or just want to revisit an Australian classic, it is streaming everywhere now.
Local band Cool Jumper has a new single out this week! It’s another blast of raw and soulful garage rock, their second single from a forthcoming album distributed by Farmer & The Owl. If you want to catch the band live, they are playing at Reub Goldberg Brewing Machine in Tarrawanna on Saturday night with the always great Straight Arrows.
Ahead of their upcoming tour of Europe and the UK, The New Christs are heading up to play a show at Marrickville Bowling Club tonight (Friday), special guests are the On & Ons. Always a cracking live show, get down there if you are in the area or feel like a trip to Sydney!
